Organisations

BUCS: British Universities & Colleges Sport

Only teams composed entirely of students can compete in BUCS leagues. BUCS deals with several different sports, but this link is specific to volleyball. Both of our teams compete in Division 1A of the Midlands conference. Results are available here for the Men's I, Men's II, Women's I, & Women's II.

EVA: English Volleyball Association

This is the ruling organisation in English Volleyball, and runs the National Volleyball League in which our NVL teams (composed of students and non-students) compete. Here you can find the men's results, and the women's results.

British Volleyball Federation

Contains information on the Great Britain Beach, Indoor and Sitting Volleyball squads as they prepare for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

FIVB: Federation Internationale de Volleyball

This is the organisation in charge of international volleyball. If you're interested in finding out how your national team is doing, want pics of recent matches, or want to download the official rules, this is the place.

Covers a lot of areas (photos, links, US shopping). It's strongest suit is an excellent collection of coaching articles.

This website is here to provide information to social and local volleyball clubs in the UK.

Volleyball Newsletter - UK & Ireland

You can sign up for a regular newsletter, with details of volleyball happenings in the UK. The website is also a useful resource, especially their extensive links section.

Here's a shout out across the water. They've got a nice site, if a little overwhelming at first.

Oxford Volleyball Club

Not to be confused with OUVC, OVC enter Men's and Mixed teams into the Berkshire Volleyball Association League.

Reading Berkshire Spikeopaths Volleyball Club

Reading have a very nice site, full of information and useful links to tournaments and a variety of volleyball stuff - rules, drills, history, etc.

Online Stores

Sportset

The prices are reasonable, the range of products good, and the speed of delivery extremely impressive. If you're buying shoes, Sportset also have a stall at a number of the larger summer tournaments, allowing you to try on the shoes before buying them.

NIVB: Volleyball on UK TV

This site lets you know about matches shown on UK TV in the near future. Extremely useful, and accurate.

BBC.co.uk: Volleyball Section

The BBC's site, covering the Beijing 2008 Olympics. They've got news reports from the matches, video clips, and results tables.

Free Rice

Play games to expand your vocab (in English or other languages), geography knowledge, and other topics. For each correct answer they will donate 10 grains of rice through the UN World Food Program.

Phoenix Picturehouse

The Phoenix offers a unique programme of art-house, independent and classic films. They also offer a very cosy bar where you can relax and the opportunity to take your drink with you into the cinema!

G & D's Ice Cream

Super-tasty local home-made ice cream, as well as cookies and hot drinks. They've got three shops around Oxford, so there's no excuse for not visiting at least one of them...

Target Vehicle Hire

The Club has been using Target for minibus hire, and they've been very helpful, friendly, and charge reasonable prices too. If you ever need to hire a car or minibus we'd recommend you check them out.
